About Carolina House

Housed in a beautiful farmhouse amid 10 acres of forest and wildflowers, Carolina House offers a safe and nurturing environment in which women who are struggling to overcome anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorders and related issues can receive the care they need to pursue the futures that they deserve.

Our treatment approach encourages self-exploration, self-awareness and self-nurturing, and is based upon the core principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). As they progress through a multidisciplinary course of treatment - which includes individual and family therapy, art therapy, yoga and mindfulness experiences, culinary and nutrition therapy, Body Movement Therapy, and interpersonal effectiveness and process groups - patients develop the strength and awareness that will allow them to re-assert their right to live healthy, productive and satisfying lives.

We seek to treat the whole person, and promote the development of strong, lifelong emotional and behavioral skills that honor a person's unique situation and needs. Carolina House utilizes an approach that values a patient's complete life, including family, community, culture, value systems, spiritual traditions and integration within the larger world. The relationships we form with our patients are founded on dignity and respect, with an understanding and appreciation of the role that an eating disorder has played in their lives.
